The publishers of the National Lampoon had compiled this “adult illustrated fantasy magazine” primarily from the contents of the French Metal Hurlant (“Screaming Metal”), which had already been going for several years and had become a phenomenon in Europe. ![]() in the spring of 1977 with the image of a pointy-breasted robot bashing to pieces another robot with a wrench.
